Male Birth Control

In the year 1960, May 9th to be precise, a major event occurred.  The advent of the female pill.  This little pill enabled women to choose when, and with whom to have children.  Most know this; many also know that in the past fifty years, women have made profound “improvements” in their ability to earn a wage.  The purpose of this article is not to dispute female birth control, but to elaborate upon its male counterpart, or to be more accurate, its lack thereof.  There are numerous treatments being developed around the world.  RISUG in India, the male pill in Israel, and a few in China are being developed.  Yet, nothing ever seems to be less than “5 years away,” and I am left to wonder why?  I have my suspicions, but I will get to that later.

Women have a monopoly in the law of reproductive rights.  No matter what a man says or does, his will, opinion, desire, are inconsequential to what a woman decides to do with “her body.” The argument that feminists often make, and have bludgeoned everyone’s ears with for over a hundred years, that the “burden” of carrying a child is paramount in their bid to control sexual reproductive rights.  Let me explain, because a woman incubates a baby from zygote to birth, feminisms claim is that a woman cannot be dictated to by any entity in regards to what she chooses to do with her body.

I won’t elaborate too much on either side of this argument.  Regardless of whether you agree with abortion or not, the medical procedure is not what I am getting at here.  The thrust of my argument is how most of the legion of birth control options out there are for women!  Men have only four choices really.  Abstinence is the only surefire way to avoid pregnancy, and the least taken option by both men and women.  The condom, second on the list, is far less effective than many have claimed.  Between breakages, not disposing of it properly, tampering by women, or loss of sensation, the condom has drawbacks.  Third is a vasectomy, most men avoid this for obvious reasons.  Especially men who want to have kids.  Lastly, is the pull-out method.  Anyone with even a basic understanding of how a man’s genitals work during intercourse knows this carries great risk if pregnancies are to be avoided.  So, the yoke of reproductive control falls on a woman’s shoulder.  With that control is responsibility, and with responsibility comes power!  Oh how the heifers have pulled their yoke grinding men into dust at the millhouse of reproductive rights.

Many men have felt the one-sided movement of this power in their general direction.  Whether they have the ability to articulate what it is exactly does not matter.  Most men are getting the picture that when it comes to sex, they are more than just the initiator, they must come to grips with being on the defensive.  I really don’t care about fairness, but about motive.  I will not even get into false rape accusations in this post that is for another post entirely.  If we count up all of the “options” a woman possesses, including various adoption options, a woman can keep a man out of a child’s life forever!  He has very little say in the matter.  He can sue, but unless she gives the baby up for adoption, and has not succeeded in misinforming him completely; he is out of luck.  When the option of abortion is chosen, a man has no choice.  She will go to a tax-funded, non-profit, non-disclosed location to have the procedure performed.  The father may never know, even if he discovers what is going on, he is always too late.

The reverse is also true of abortion.  When a man does not want a child with a woman, he had better pray she does not have access to his genetic material.  Whether by shear stupidity on his part, or subterfuge on hers, family courts will not care how it happened, but that a pregnancy occurred.  This is not a problem; taxpayers do not want to fund anyone’s children, illegitimate or otherwise.  Why people argue so much about Welfare, no one here is saying that.  What is being said however is that if she decides to carry to term, whether she is married to him or not, it is solely her choice.  His desire to have a child, or not is not up to him once she gets pregnant.  I am not going to discuss what I think a man’s responsibilities are.  My point in regards to the man is that a woman always has a way out; a man is at her mercy as soon as he has been with her.  He has no way out or recourse unless it is given him by the mother.   If men had the adoption to “opt-out” of the responsibility of a child, this would drastically even the playing field on sexual reproduction; but kill society even worse than the current level of uninhibited sex has already done.

Compounding the issue further are family courts.  Women gain custody five to one nationwide, and more often men are left with support.  This dynamic has shifted several areas of society against men.  From numerous government entities, to a task force of lawyers firms and “professional” court aides, men are at their wits end on how to just “be with” their children.  Not to mention how to avoid government enforced poverty.  Young men are taking notice, and marriage rates are slipping.  Marriage rates, not relationship rates.  Men and women are getting together more than ever before.  Also, they are switching partners more than ever before.  Tax subsidies are doled out to states as they collect child support, and this increases their incentive to ever burdening the payer.  Arrearages, state seizure of tax refunds, professional and driver’s licenses, passports, credentials, and throwing payers in to modern day debtors’ prisons are all having an effect.  As prisons are more and more controlled by private firms, which receive tax subsidies as well, men have their work cut out for them.  Lose your job, and you had better get creative, or pray that the “overburdened” family court judges have time for you between tee times, and feminist speaking engagements.

So, to those who say there is no need or outpouring of support for a male birth control option; I suspect you are not looking hard enough.  There is more than just male desire for a pill/option; women would like to have a non-hormonal experience as well.  Most forms of male birth control being developed have no side effects.  The female pill has numerous side effects on their hormones.  So speaking of government agencies, where is the FDA in all this?  They are nowhere to be found.  Read this, it is just a random article selected for being more recent, and understand that this is just another article saying the same as the last thousand claiming this was 5-10 years away :

This is just one of the latest posts saying the same old song and dance.  Every year several articles come out with some new company trying to get the FDA approval for human testing.  Then, absolutely nothing, why?  I have several hunches, but if my experience with feminism, lawyers, and family court give me any indication; then I have to suspect that there is a very strong lobbyist group that works behind the scenes made up of big pharma, lawyers, feminists, and former/current judges that want to kill every male birth control drug in its tracks.  For example, in Brazil a few years ago there was a male birth control option already tested, and ready to be sold to the general public.  An unnamed lobbyist group here in the US flew down to Brazil to prevent a birth control option for men that was almost ready for sale over the counter.  Imagine, men being able to control their sperm, and choose when, and with whom they will have children! If you and I can imagine that, apparently the feminists around the world can too.

I strongly suspect that not only is this the main culprit for the lack of male birth control, but it is also the culprit for making it difficult to find any info on this topic.  Many of the articles I read about it before starting this blog are very difficult to find.  If men have a cheap, effective form of birth control where they don’t need dangerous multiple hour long soaks in a tub full of very hot water; big pharma, and feminists, and soon-to-be baby-mamas will be largely out of luck.  This slows down, if not completely stops tax subsidies for child support collection, child support distribution to un-wed mothers (who vote en-masse); which will allow men to freely sleep with as many women as possible, and will drastically reduce the amount of children being born.  What is a corrupt government to do?  Simple, never let it reach the public, and squash every contender that approaches the FDA.  Not until men come screaming to every corner of the federal, and state governments will we even hear of it on the 24 hour news stream.  You can forget hearing about it on the government run Main-Stream Media.  Until they have no choice.

The Golden Goose is too lucrative to allow it to be killed by men who want to have the right to choose when they want to have children, and share in the rights to their upbringing.  Big Pharma makes a lot of money off the female pill, because of how frequent it needs to be purchased, and the political clout behind it.  A male option would be much cheaper, more effective, and need to be taken once every three months, to TEN YEARS!  In other words, it’s not a lack of interest, but a lack of pursuing a dead end in highway robbery by pharmaceutical companies.  Also, considering how much states only claim they collect per year, the control feminism has on government, and how spineless politicians and bureaucrats cave to their every whim; once again, men we have our work cut out for us!
